Directions

We will send you a map when you register, with special directions from New York, Vermont and Connecticut. The Mohawk Trail (Route 2) is probably the most famous highway in New England and rightfully so. There are few roads more beautiful. Enjoy the journey as well as the goal.

map

From eastern Massachusetts, follow Route 2 West, toward North Adams and Williamstown. Interstate 91 South merges with Route 2 West in Greenfield, MA. WATCH THE SIGNS and get OFF I91 exit 26, the very next exit — just 2 miles — so that you stay on Route 2 West. Go 19 miles (two miles past downtown Charlemont), and turn right at the green sign to Rowe. From the west, if you are coming through North Adams, follow Route 2 East for about 17 miles. After you cross the Deerfield River shortly after the road levels out, turn left at the green sign for Rowe.

After you turn off Route 2, go 21/2 miles and turn right at the T in the road, in front of the big brown house. After 31/2 winding, mostly uphill miles, (it may feel farther!) you will pass a white church on your left and several houses. Just before the top of the hill, bordered by a stone wall, turn right onto King’s Highway Road, and cross a little bridge by a waterfall. Proceed a hundred yards or so up the road, park in the parking lot on the left. Follow the sign to the white farmhouse to register. Welcome!

Peter Pan Bus lines ( 1-800-343-9999) runs from Boston or NYC to Greenfield, MA, which is about 30 minutes from Rowe. Please call in advance and we will pick you up in Greenfield at 2:05 pm. Air Travel

We prefer you use Bradley International Airport in Hartford, CT, about an hour and 45 minutes from Rowe. We can arrange a pick-up for you from and to the airport for a $50 charge one-way. Often it is possible to get a ride back to the airport with another guest.

It is important to arrive at the airport by 4:00 p.m. on Friday. That will give you time to get here, check in, find your room and bearings, and still be on time for dinner. We advise that you arrange your return flight with a departure time after 4:30 p.m. on Sunday. It is unlikely that we could get you out and on your way before 2:00 p.m.

Weather Advisory

We value our guests a great deal, so in the eventof a travelers’ advisory, we’ll start the workshop on Saturday morning at 9 am and run through Sunday afternoon. It is beautiful to drive after a storm. If you do make it on Friday night you will be welcomed, fed, and have a relaxing, peaceful evening.
