By becoming a member of Rowe Camp and Conference Center, you help support a warm, non-competitive environment in which people can experience community, creativity, learning, and joy, as well as personal and spiritual growth.
All members receive a membership newsletter, $15 discount to each Rowe event they attend, and there is a special members' weekend in the early fall. In addition, donors of $100 or more will receive various gifts of appreciation. All gifts are tax-deductible, less the value of benefits received. Our gratitude to Rowe's members and donors is boundless!

Have you ever tried to change something to make it simpler and
ended up initially making it more complicated? We are in the process of creating a development plan for Rowe. As part of that plan, we have made some changes in our membership structure. Why? Because we want to show our appreciation to folks who give in so many various ways and to acknowledge those who have been giving loyally for years. We hope this will help to explain the changes we are making and that you’ll be patient with us as we implement those changes. Why should I become a member of Rowe?
By becoming a member of Rowe, you are joining a community of people who provide stewardship for U.U. Rowe Camp & Conference Center. Through your annual gift/membership and support, you become a part of the work that Rowe is doing to make this a better world. We are dedicated to fostering a new society that will nurture the best in each of us, reward idealism and caring, and expand hope and vision. Offering your support to create a more loving world is a generous act.
How do I become a member?
| All gifts to Rowe count toward membership. To be counted as an active member, we ask you to renew your membership each year. The gift level is $30 for students, $50 for individuals, $75 for families, $100 for Owls, $250 for Pegasus, $500 for Angels, $1,000 for Archangels, and $2,500 for Seraphim. Gifts of $5,000 or more become part of our stewardship program. |

Does that mean if I give to the dining room or campership drive, I will be a member?
Yes, all gifts to Rowe will count towards membership.
What happens with the money raised through annual giving/membership?

Annual gift donations support many things. They pay for the development program at Rowe: including half the salary of the director and the salary of a part-time assistant, publication of The Rowe Zone two times a year, grant writing costs, and other general fundraising expenses. They also supplement the campership drive to provide additional scholarship money for campers as well as providing support for maintenance of our buildings and grounds. |
What’s the difference between annual giving and membership?
Recently, we have made changes in this area. Each year we ask you to renew your membership with an annual gift. That is what we used to call membership. We are now also offering memberships when you give to special funds so that you can choose how your membership money will be spent. All gifts now count towards membership.
Why should I give to an annual giving renewal if I have already given to something else?
The truth is there is no additional incentive other than knowing we need your annual gift to continue Rowe’s work. We are committed to giving 100% of the gifts that come in for capital projects, camperships, and other restricted gifts directly to those projects. Your unrestricted annual gift makes that possible.
If I give to Rowe are you going to keep asking me to give more?
Quite honestly, yes! Rowe is a spiritual home for many people, but unlike a church, we don’t have that same kind of weekly congregation to support us. You are that congregation. You can expect that we’ll ask for your support at least three times a year: annual giving in the fall, our capital campaign at the end of each year, and our campership drive in the spring. There may be times when we also ask for special projects. We hope you will support us as generously as you are able. Give to what you feel called to give. Our mailings will keep you informed of the work that we are doing, as well as asking for your support.
What if I only want to give once a year and not receive other mailings?
Simply give us a call and we will set up a plan that works for you.
Do you still give gifts for larger donations?
Donations of $100 or more, made as an unrestricted annual gift/membership receive Owl mugs and other gifts. All members receive a $15 discount to camps and conferences and a free subscription to our member’s newsletter, The Rowe Zone. All donations receive the gift of our deep appreciation and the knowledge that you are contributing your energy to this amazing work that we do.

What is the Anita Pickett Society?
The Anita Pickett Society recognizes people who have named Rowe as a beneficiary in their will or who have arranged a charitable gift in their estate planning. People need only inform us of their commitment to become members.
What are promissory notes?
You can invest in Rowe and help us to keep moving forward by making a loan of $5,000 or more. Our interest rates are fair and are based on the 5-year treasury note rate. Why not invest in something you believe in? Call us for more information

Yes, we have started acknowledging gifts on a cumulative basis, rather than a yearly basis. Many people have supported Rowe over the years and we’d like to acknowledge that long time, loyal support. The total of all your gifts given over the years will determine your level of membership.
