When we look back at our lives, most of us see moments of peak experiences in which we felt connected with the flow, at one with our surroundings, or in touch with something greater than ourselves. It is during these times that our intuitive sense of a connection to a continuous dreaming process is clear and beyond doubt. However, as we become caught up in mundane activities, relationship troubles, or illness, we feel we're far from this dreaming process.
Process or Dreambody Work follows Taoism, in which troublesome and disturbing occurrences are seen as bridges into the unknown, paths to mythic power, and places in which deep experiences can bring forth the humor of the moment. Based on this perspective, Process Work has developed tools and interventions that use these difficulties as gateways into a world of intimacy, free from pathologizing ourselves or others or the need to "rectify" our own relationship behavior. When we examine the trouble, it can show us a path to enlightenment, a path promising increased self-knowledge and spiritual freedom. Our lives and our relationships have their own mysteries, dreams, and uniqueness to be celebrated and fully lived.
In this workshop, we'll explore the wide spectrum of Process Work, connecting
the experiences of our body symptoms to the stumbling stones in our relationships.
These patterns can also be found in our spontaneous movements as well as
in our perceptions of the larger world as it expresses itself in groups.
We'll introduce the basics of Process-oriented body work, relationship
work, movement work, and group work and show how the experiences in all
these modes of expression are holographically connected.
