Preparation of seeds for planting is an analogy for each person caring for seeds within us: seeds of truth, seeds of understanding, seeds of memories gathered by our ancestors that are encoded in our blood. The care of seeds indicates the circle of relationship and responsibility. Deepening of the inner vision enables us to see the very structural fibers of life that connect all of us together.
A thread of beauty and clarity, a purity of intention runs through the work of the Venerable Dhyani Ywahoo and the Sunray Meditation Society. In every era, sacred teachings emerge to remind us how to manifest peace. Rooted in the timeless Native American spiritual wisdom, Dhyani teaches how to restore balance and harmony to all living beings on earth. Mother Earth is alive and responds to our gentle touch, prayers, and songs. Our wounds and the wounds of the earth can be healed. When we dedicate our actions to the benefit of all, we do make a difference.
On this retreat we will internalize and practice certain simple truths.
Respect nature. Become more self-sufficient. Simplify as much as possible.
Begin where one is at this moment. Apply spirituality in everyday life.
Use breath as a vehicle to purify and stabilize the mind. Through breathing
and moving, through chanting and dance, through prayers and commitment,
through song and visualization, through drumming and meditation, we will
release the flow of creative energy within. Dhyani Ywahoo knows how to
tap the wisdom of everyone's heart and shows others how to do it, too.
Please join us for this celebration on Mother's Day weekend.
Venerable Dhyani Ywahoo, recipient of the ancestral wisdom of the Ywahoo lineage of the AniYunwiwa, was trained by her grandparents. Author of Voices of Our Ancestors: Cherokee Teachings from the Wisdom Fire, she is the founder and spiritual director of the Sunray Meditation Society. She teaches that spirituality is based on the principle of non-harm and respect; though the expressions may take many forms, there is one truth underlying all appearances. The Venerable Dhyani Ywahoo travels around the world speaking on Cherokee philosophy, Native American issues, planetary peacemaking, and Boddhisattva action. We welcome the return of this gracious guide to all who walk the path of light and beauty.
