Moving On: Women Survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse

Krishnabai
February 22-24

When trauma occurs in childhood, it affects an entire life. Although the trauma was not our fault, the responsibility for healing rests on us, and how much we heal determines the quality of the rest of our lives. This workshop is an opportunity to do another piece of the healing work. We will face the past through a ritual of self-forgiveness, assess what areas of our lives still need attention, and create a healing plan.

This workshop is not focused on uncovering memories and other historical work, but it is an opportunity to work with the big picture of our lives and to own our futures by taking charge of our lives today. Healing can become a choice and a way of life. We'll speak honestly and openly, listen without judgment, share our feelings, and know and honor our limits. Finally, we'll celebrate with gratitude our strengths, creativity, and ability to survive that which many did not.

This retreat, limited to 15 women, is open only to those women who have not, as adults, perpetrated sexual abuse against others. When you register, we'll send you a short, confidential application to be returned directly to Krishnabai, who will call if she has any question about whether this workshop is appropriate for you.

Krishnabai is a survivor who began working on her healing before the awareness of childhood sexual abuse was common. She founded the Center for Sexual Abuse Counseling, has led workshops for survivors and their partners for over 15 years, and has a Masters degree in Social Work. She also works with survivors and others in grieving the loss of their animal companions. We respect her important work and welcome her back to Rowe Conference Center..
