The Body Tells the Truth: Rubenfeld Synergy, An Approach for the 21st Century

Ilana Rubenfeld
May 3-5

Drawing upon 40 years of teaching and healing, Ilana Rubenfeld uses the Rubenfeld Synergy Method, a powerful, elegant, holistic system that integrates psychotherapy, intuition, and bodywork as a gateway to contacting and working through feelings and memories. What we communicate verbally may not be congruent with our body's story. Memories and emotions often stored in our bodies can result in energy blocks and imbalances.

Ilana will guide participants through her seven step change process, teach body/mind exercises, conduct demonstrations, and lead hands-on practices for developing the language of touch. She will explore the relationship of posture to emotions, share her "self care toolbox," and stimulate your sense of humor.
More than a group of individuals, the workshop community becomes an active culture for learning and growth. Ilana facilitates an atmosphere of safety, caring, inspiration, and trust. Be ready to laugh, cry, move, and learn.

This workshop which is open to everyone, also fulfills a requirement for the upcoming Rubenfeld Synergy Training Program, which Ilana founded 25 years ago. She's a total pro who runs great retreats, and we are honored and delighted by her return.

Ilana Rubenfeld has been called the grande dame of body-oriented psychotherapy. Author of The Listening Hand, she is a healer, a stand-up comic, and a pioneer in integrating psychotherapy, intuition, and bodywork. Ilana directs mind-body-emotional energies as if conducting a symphony, which is quite natural. She graduated from the Julliard School of Music and enjoyed a career in conducting until a debilitating back spasm reorchestrated her life journey to become an inspirational teacher and trainer. She created the Rubenfeld Synergy Method 40 years ago and her vivacious, humorous teaching style has attracted thousands of participants to her workshops, seminars, and training programs. Ilana has taught at The New School for Social Research, the NYU Graduate School of Social Work, The New York Open Center, and Esalen and Omega Institutes. She received the Pathfinder Award from the Association of Humanistic Psychology (AHP) for her outstanding and innovative contributions to psychology.

"Ilana Rubenfeld, the genius of touch, has more than a touch of genius. The richly comic and wildly innovative author teaches the ways of integrating body, mind, and emotion in a method as productive as it is profound." - Jean Houston, author of Jump Time
