August 17 - August 23
We are all kindred spirits when we enter this world, with more similarities than differences, but somewhere along the way we get hurt, or we forget, and we become separated. The journey of Kindred Spirits is the joy of reconnecting with self, the natural world, and other human beings. With its roots in the 12 step recovery movement, Kindred Spirits encourages authentic expression of feelings, acknowledgment of past pain, and a commitment to balance tears with laughter. We create a community to which many return year after year, sustaining and deepening relationships. First timers are welcomed into the family with open arms.
Kindred Spirits is for people interested in expanding their growing edges, relaxing, and having fun. Activities range from the ridiculous to the sublime. It all takes place in a beautiful, natural environment, where the cabins are rustic and the food divine. Free your imagination to create what you have always wanted. Explore "lifeshops" in relationships, awakening the heart, drumming, prosperity, nurturing the self, community building, creative expression, meditation, music, movement, and the healing arts. Immerse yourself in singing, dancing, campfires, 12 step and other support groups, a no talent show, swimming, and lots of time just hanging out on the porch. Kindred Spirits Camp offers an opportunity to join a safe community that supports us in taking our next steps in recovery and moving into our wholeness. The camp is facilitated by an amazing group of seasoned staff members, with a wide variety of talents. Woven through every activity in the camp is the intention to connect in compassionate kindness and create a healing environment.
