July 11 - 20
This quest is for ages 15 - 21 (includes 3-day and 3-night solo and fast)
Indigenous cultures from around the world respond to the longing in their young people for an experience to mark, honor and celebrate their passage into adulthood with formal rites of passage. The School of Natural Wonder responds to that need with the Vision Quest, which is a way for young adults to discover strengths and gifts within themselves, and to have a vision of Spirit, however that may be conceived. This program is similar to the Open Vision Quest but is one day shorter, with a fast of three days instead of four. It takes place on a beautiful lake in southern Vermont and is limited to eight participants. Participants provide their own food. We invite you to take up this challenge and step with confidence into your manhood or womanhood.
Flynn Johnson, founding director of The School of Natural Wonder, has Masters of Arts degrees in philosophy and counseling psychology. A certified Wilderness First Responder, he's been leading vision quests for eight years and has gone to the sacred mountain many times himself.
Jill Neitlich is a psychotherapist. She and her husband Flynn have been co-leading vision quests for several years. Both received their training as wilderness vision quest guides with Steven Foster and Meredith Little and share backgrounds in Jungian psychology, ecopsychology, Native American traditions, meditation, and yoga. They combine their love of nature and their love of people in creating exquisite rites of passage. For more information, please go to www.schoolofnaturalwonder.org.
