January 9-11
Rowe will be John's first stop in his new tour promoting the ideas, insights, information, and experiential exercises found in his approach to soul relationships. He's been working on this material for five years and is now ready to share his life-changing, relationship-changing ideas. These ideas can help beginning relationships have a greater chance of deep and lasting intimacy, as well as help relationships that have gotten stuck and become less than what they could be. We can enhance the way we communicate love to our current or future partners, husbands, wives, and lovers, and the material will be equally as valuable for same-sex partners. And the processes we learn can positively affect our relationships with friends, family, and co-workers.
Learning to see, hear, and touch the soul of a loved one is an emotional, spiritual, physical, and intellectual process, and all these modes will be explored, addressed, and engaged. Many of us know how to love bodies, but not how to see and feel the other's soul and how to blend it with our own.
In this workshop the participant/friend will learn how to identify how your partner wants to be loved. Clarify how you want to be shown you are loved. Learn the language, behaviors, and responses that communicates your desires and your love. Identify the "Four Types of Love" and how to employ each. How do you Court someone's Soul? How to treat your loved one like a Friend. How to communicate all your feelings (love, anger, hurt, sadness, and so on) to your partner and hear their feelings more clearly and comfortably. How we "regress" in our relationships and how to recognize it, and how to do it less often.
John Lee, a charming mixture of Alabama good ole boy, college professor, and therapist, came to national prominence over a decade ago with The Flying Boy: Healing The Wounded Man, which sold more than a quarter of a million copies. He has since written eight other books on anger, fathers and sons, mothers and sons, and other relationships, the most recent being Growing Yourself Back Up: Understanding Emotional Regression and Courting A Woman's Soul. He founded the Austin Men's Center, is a leader in the recovery movement, co-founded Primary Emotional Energy Recovery (PEER) Training to facilitate emotional release work, and is Director of Facing the Fire Institute. He believes passionately that the best creative endeavors come from the feelings that have been stuffed in the body. In the tradition of Mark Twain and Will Rogers, John has earned a reputation as one of America's leading humorists and story-tellers. We are happy to welcome John back to Rowe for this workshop that is open to coules and single people. Please join us.
