Thom Hartmann is a Renaissance thinker with a vast array of interests, from seminal work with the problems of Attention Deficit Disorder to original interpretations of the meaning of the Boston Tea Party, from writing about what will happen when we run out of oil to in-depth studies of the Older Cultures our culture has pushed aside. He can take what seems like a complex subject and present it simply so anyone can “get it.”
To attend a retreat with Thom is informative, entertaining, and inspiring for he believes that global transformation begins with passionate involvement in changing ourselves and our society. Individual actions and changes in consciousness — lessons we can learn from ancient cultures and early American history— can save the world from impending ecological and cultural crises. The focus of this workshop is touching that place where the survival of democracy and humanity may be found. It is important to honor the social contract — that people’s basic needs were taken care of — because that’s what we do in a community. He is calling for a return to the old values of democracy, justice, and fairness that made America great.

Thom Hartmann, is an award-winning, best-selling author of 13 books and an international lecturer, teacher, and psychotherapist. He has appeared on CNN, the BBC, and NPR, is a syndicated columnist for www.commondreams.or., The Thom Hartmann Program (www.ThomHartmann.com) is now on 21 stations. He is also a former international relief worker and executive director of a residential treatment facility for abused children. Among his books are The Prophet’s Way, The Last Hours of Ancient Sunlight, and Unequal Protection: The Rise of Corporate Dominance and the Theft of Human Rights. We are honored to welcome this brilliant thinker and compassionate man.
