Aging is not for the faint of heart, especially those who are without partners in a couples-and-family-oriented society. However, there are so many joyous ways to live a creative and loving life as a mature soloist; no one should have to suffer from being alone.
This workshop is all about how to deepen relationships, create new ones, and get our social and spiritual needs met with others. We will learn how to recognize self-defeating patterns that interfere with giving and receiving love. We will explore the many ways we can express ourselves through singing, dancing, drawing, and writing. We will learn to make the most of brief encounters, friendships, and other relationships.
Niela is most interested in supporting the ability of single people to live a quality life no matter what relationships they have or want. For those interested in finding long-term partnerships, the activities of the workshop will enhance skills and confidence to pursue this possibility.
We will share our feelings about aging in a youth-dominated culture. We will also pay attention to the special needs elders face in a youth-crazed society. Come prepared to give and receive much. The workshop will be a combination of short exercises, community building, and just plain fun.
