(Mother’s Day) Transform dog training to create a harmonious alliance between you and your dog. Learn to gain direct access to the deepest part of your dog’s temperament — his/her loving and cooperative nature. It is delightful to have your dog be calm, trustworthy, and highly cooperative while retaining the magnificent vitality of his/her wild heritage.

This workshop is limited to 10 people and their dogs, so everyone will get individual attention. We’ll learn these methods as Ellen helps each dog and owner in turn, connect emotionally in a dynamic and fulfilling way.  You’ll gain a real understanding of canine body language and learn how to communicate directly with your dog in his/her own language. In the evenings, along with discussions of dogs and dog training theory and practice, we’ll do some experiential processes and games that will prepare you to use movement and sound to communicate with your dog in an improvisational form of play. This is a training tool that will allow you to attract your dog’s full attention in any situation. You’ll leave with new understanding that will deepen the bond between you and your dog and you’ll be more in touch with your own magnificent wildness.

This workshop is open to dogs and pups with no history of dog-fighting or serious biting of humans. Participants need to be physically fit enough to control their dogs on leash under all circumstances and must have a comfortable crate as a holding place. Noisy dogs must be managed or isolated so as not to disturb others, especially at night. Please call Ellen (413 339-8527) to discuss your dog before you sign up.

Ellen Landauer tried many of the commonly available dog training methods, but she found herself further away from understanding dogs and her fellow humans. In 1998, she meet her mentor, Kevin Behan, a real dog whisperer and author of Natural Dog Training, and has been studying with him ever since. She finally found real insight into the true nature of dogs which transformed her work as a healer and brought her greater affinity with people. A Certified Advanced Rolfer, she has nearly 30 years involvement in the healing arts, providing a strong foundation for her work with people and dogs. Her other mentor is Ena, her German Shepherd with an iron will and a heart of gold, who has not been compromised by commonly accepted training methods. Ellen is currently writing her own book about learning to trust the true nature of dogs. Life Positive Dog Training is her own dog training practice.
