Theres nothing like Rowe Mens Wisdom Council anywhere. Each year, men return to renew themselves and drink from the rich waters of the male spirit, drawing sustenance from the deep emotion and passionate spirituality that take root and flower in this unique environment.
Tears, laughter, ritual, myth, and masculinity weave together as men blend into a community far beyond the limited expressions of the male role in ordinary life. Both tender and tribal, this community creates safe and sacred spaces where men unmask and unburden themselves, face their fears, speak their truths, and heal from wounds they have carried for decades.
Modern man lives in a very small psychic space. His soul shrivels in the face of materialism and his role of provider leaves him alone and isolated. Spirit is labeled unreal or confined to a house of worship on the weekend. The man of the 21st century has spent more time watching television than attending school. Alienated and estranged from himself, unfamiliar with the great rhythms of nature that created him, and unsure how to participate in the cosmic story, he labors, often at the expense of his health, in an empty pursuit of success.
We invite men to open the door to all they have forgotten, reclaim their potential to be heroic, and connect with a larger, sacred story. Men arrive excited and nervous, longing to build friendships and community, to renew the passion they felt as children, to find a dream worth living. Each year they leave laden with gifts, both planned and unexpected. Many rediscover their creativity and depart having created a poem, a mask, a story, or a song. Others find their way from the head to the heart and are shocked, even stunned by the richness of their inner life as ritual, breathwork, community, and communion bring them to a self far larger than the one they thought they knew. Join us for a week of wonder and wildness, a week you wont forget.
The Mens Wisdom Council showed me my real life, and gave me the courage to start living it.
The council will be directed by Sparrow Hart, a wise, high-energy, and humorous man who co-founded MWC 11 years ago. Hes been involved in mens work for more than 25 years, created the Mythic Warrior Mens Training, and leads vision quests and workshops that focus on living from our core truths and authentic selves. The staff includes Ron Kearns, Larry Murphy, Tim Dalton, Blasé Provitola, Garry Alesio, and Dan Roden.
