On this glorious foliage weekend, we will work with ancient vocal purification practices, learn to cleanse and tune the chakras, and experience the nature of the radiant body. Enter subtle dimensions of reality through voice techniques and ancient Mongolian and Tibetan overtone chanting. Let go of harmful patterns within yourself. Attune together, move into deep meditative states, open your heart, and release untapped sources of energy. Freeing the voice can lead to increased health, emotional joy, and spiritual ecstasy. Working with the voice is one of the most effective ways to empower your life, balance mind and body, and ultimately achieve enlightenment. This is a rare appearance in the US for Jill, who will also be doing a longer intensive the following weekend in the Boston area healingvoice@comcast.net or (508 429-9716).

Jill Purce pioneered the international sound healing movement through her rediscovery of ancient vocal techniques, the power of group chant, and the potential of the voice as an instrument for healing and meditation. She wrote The Mystic Spiral: Journey of the Soul and Overtone Chanting Meditations. From 1971 to ‘74, she worked with the composer Karlheinz Stockhausen investigating the spiritual dimension of music. Later she studied in the Himalayas with the chantmaster of the Gyuto Tibetan Monastery and learned Mongolian and Tibetan overtone chanting (producing chords or simultaneous notes octaves apart). She has been following the philosophy and practice of Dzogchen since 1978, has taught internationally for thirty years, and lives in London with her husband, the biologist Rupert Sheldrake, and their two sons, Cosmo and Merlin.
