Every human being is born with the capacity to cultivate a good singing voice that uplifts the soul, yet few of us take advantage of the remarkable instrument we are born with. Some of us feel embarrassed or “not good enough,” or fear attracting attention with our own heartsong. In 25 years of teaching, Claude Stein has never met anyone who was “tone-deaf.” We can all be taught to sing better, with clearer tone, accuracy, rhythm, and joy and with supportive coaching we can overcome critical, self-conscious thinking and our music flows freely. Natural Singing brings out the hidden beauty in our voices as it dignifies and integrates our light and dark sides. The Natural Singer Workshop provides a supportive atmosphere in which we can move at our own individual rate, whatever our level. We breathe deeply, relax our throats, and increase our vocal range. We train the ear to match pitch, the jaw to relax, and the voice to project. We will use songs we love as wel l - springs for transformation as we let our voices ring out. The results are stunning, filled with moments of triumph. We can find confidence through the vulnerable whisper of a lullaby, release old pain through the cry of the blues, ignite passions with a driving rhythmic chant, or be awakened by the seductive sway of a samba — even if you’ve never been able to carry a tune!
