Damanhur is one of the most successful and fascinating intentional communities in the world today. It has a coherent, well-thought-through philosophy practiced by approximately 1000 people in Northern Italy, with friends and supporters around the world. Its goals are the freedom and re-awakening of the human being. Each person is socially and spiritually responsible for every action, she takes. They help each other live life based on the ethical principles of communal living, love, harmonic integration, and cooperation with all the forces in human evolution. They sustain themselves with more than 60 economic activities and services. They have developed and have created their own currency to restore meaning to the idea of money. They are demonstrating that creating new forms of society is possible.
Their philosophy is based on optimism, common sense, thinking well of others, welcoming diversity, and the belief that everything changes. Humility and the ability to be amazed are encouraged. There is no dogma, only ”working hypotheses” that undergo continuous verification. Spiritual, scientific, and artistic research are woven into everyday life. Each person’s goal is to become conscious of inner divinity and render matter sacred so the universe can become a conscious part of God. They consider the planet a sentient being to be respected and preserved though self-sufficiency in energy and sustainable organic agriculture. Each person is unique and has a specific, personal path to physical, emotional, and spiritual health. In this workshop, we will explore the story of Damanhur and practice two of their techniques for health and healing: inner harmonizing and prana therapy.
Inner Harmonizing is a meditation technique that takes place on several levels. Inner balance can be reached through simple body movements, singing of vowels, colored lights, and tuning into the frequency of animals and plants. Inner Harmonizing helps release tensions, rebalances energy, and is suitable for all ages. Prana therapy is one of the most ancient forms of healing. It rebalances the body through the universal energy called Prana, which illuminates our spiritual self and revitalizes our subtle body. The most profound part in each one of us can be re-awakened, which can greatly change the quality of our life.
Crotalo and Gazza will be available on Friday, Sunday afternoon, and Monday for individual healing sessions. Please ask us for more information. Also, you can get more information from their website: http://www.damanhur.org
Crotalo Sesamo was born in Turin, Italy. When he was 17, his interest in natural medicine and the development of paranormal faculties inspired him to move to Damanhur, where he’s lived for 16 years, specializing in spiritual healing and the development of human potential. He now directs the Olami Damanhur University, where he teaches courses in Inner Harmonizing, Widening of Perception, Contact with the Plant World, Past Lives, Astral Travel, and Conscious Out-of-Body Experiences. He has represented Damanhur at spiritual centres in the US, UK, Portugal, Holland, Croatia, Slovenia, Austria, and Iceland.
Gazza Solidago was born in England in 1963, moved to Italy at the age of seven, and completed her education at the University of Trieste in Interpretation and Translation. She moved to Damanhur at the age of 23 to further her interest in spiritual research. For 19 years she’s specialized in welcoming people to Damanhur and worked extensively organizing courses and seminars at Damanhur centres abroad. Married and with a son who is 14, she’s interested in sociology, esoteric physics, and international relations.
“Studying Damanhur reminded me of what the Carthusian monasteries and the abbeys represented in the Middle Ages. Establishing themselves inside agricultural areas, they brought benefits that revitalized entire valleys.”
Professor Luigi Berzano the University of Turin
