The Labyrinth is a single path, not a maze, which commonly leads to a destination and safely returns us to our starting place. It is an archetype, a divine imprint, a metaphor for life, found in ancient sites all over the world. In the labyrinth, we discover a long-forgotten mystical tradition, a walking meditation, which is an opportunity to engage in a powerful inward journey in search of God, the Truth, the Self. The classic labyrinth pattern is over 5000 years old, and newer stylized variations were created on the floors of cathedrals of Europe during the Middle Ages for many reasons, including to symbolize the great pilgrimage to Jerusalem. We will learn how and why labyrinths “work,” how to use the healing aspects of labyrinths, how to draw them, and how to dowse one to bring it forth in harmony with the land.

The ancient skill of dowsing trains the mind to communicate with all life forms, to think clearly, simplify questions, and pay attention to detail. We will learn to use dowsing to trust our inner knowing and intuition. Using dowsing and all our senses, we will find out how to recognize and move into sacred space.

Prue and Marty have teamed up for this workshop to share their knowledge and experience. We will all focus on our personal connection to nature and a deepened, ongoing awareness of the Oneness that we long for in today’s stressful world of separation. Each of us will have the opportunity to locate and create our own personal “Earth Circle” in the lovely environs of autumnal Rowe, practicing and expanding our ability to interact with Nature Spirits and the sacredness of Nature. Each of us will be empowered to utilize this knowledge and skill wherever we go.

Prue Berry is a nature spirit herself. She specializes in the creation of Sacred Spaces in her landscape design work and is a graduate of the Radcliffe Seminars Graduate Program of Landscape Design. Co-Executive Director of Rowe Camp and Conference Center for 17 years, she has shifted her work for Rowe to hosting weekend events and teaching. She is a guitarist, singer, therapist and ace workshop leader. Her love of nature and natural sensibilities keeps her on her quest for new ways to impart awareness of this connection to others.

Marty Cain, an artist, teacher, dowser, and geomancer, was taught to dowse by her Lithuanian grandfather. She has experienced, researched, and documented hundreds of ancient sacred sites in England and Europe and teaches dowsing as a way to generate creative ideas. Her exquisite land-art focuses on the integration of art and geomancy. Her goal is to create, and enable others to create, new sacred sites that heal the Earth and all who enter them. She has created over 130 labyrinths and her enthusiasm is contagious.
