If you discover your heart, you may learn the purpose of your life. You have a destiny to fulfill, and your heart knows what it is. Learn a process based on ancient wisdom that heals both problems emanating from the past and anxieties about the future by expanding all time into the present moment. When you can find your heartbeat and listen to it, the sense of well-being is immediate.
The heart is unique in its fragility and strength. While easily wounded, it also has the power to heal itself. The emotional and spiritual power of gratefulness and forgiveness, if applied to the heart’s wounds, creates healing and growth. Emotionally, a stronger heart reduces anxiety and fear. The power of your heart can then be harnessed to help you meet your goals.
In this retreat you’ll identify what physical, emotional, and spiritual factors cause stress on your heart and how these factors are inter-related. You will learn the steps of Heart Rhythm Meditation (HRM) and the physical sensations that confirm each step. Your heart rate variability will be measured and used as feedback for learning and proof of the healing effect on the heart.
HRM coordinates your body’s internal rhythms, producing entrainment of the heartbeat, breath, and brainwaves. This makes a connection between the mind and heart, so that your emotions become more clear and your desires more conscious. HRM can help you increase energy, create a stable rhythm in your heartbeat, find deep rest and improved sleep, function better under stress, and restore your natural optimism. HRM increases the bio-magnetic field of the heart, expanding your influence and capacity. You can slow down your breath, which will lower your blood pressure dramatically.
Ultimately, HRM can bring you to a state of radiant peace. Taking the goal of responsibility and integrity, not freedom and detachment, we seek to have a greater impact on our world than our world has upon us. This is a vital method for our time.
American Sufi Masters Puran and Susanna Bair, co-founders of Institute for Applied Meditation (IAM), are spiritual leaders and one of the few couples working in the field of heart development and fulfillment. Together, they have taught over ten thousand people the method they developed, Heart Rhythm Practice. They have been teachers and students of Universal Sufism for 30 years. Random House called their book, Living From the Heart, “a classic, one of the most important books written on meditation.”
“Peace comes when self is in harmony with the rhythm of the heart. This is accomplished in silent meditation when one enters into the life-stream in the heart so that it takes up the proper pulsation. If there is any form of concentration to be used in meditation, it consists in first getting into the rhythm of the heart, by watching the heartbeats, feeling them and harmonizing with them. Then one centers all feeling in the physical heart and out of feeling selects love, and out of love, Divine Love.”
