Dorothy Maclean is sparkling company. With bright blue eyes and a keen sense of humor, she lectures and teaches all over the world. During World War II, she worked for British Intelligence, then developed a conscious communion with her inner divinity, which she calls “the certainty of God.” In 1962 she moved with Eileen and Peter Caddy to Findhorn, Scotland. “The first time I talked with the Angel of Findhorn, it said its job was to reach the four corners of the earth, which seemed absolutely ridiculous.” Based on Dorothy’s attunement to the essence of the forces of nature, she and the Caddys grew extremely large cabbages without fertilizers or pesticides. The media picked up the story and people started visiting the community. Some stayed and before long there were 300 people: the Angel of Findhorn had reached the four corners of the earth.

After 11 years, Dorothy left Findhorn with a group of others to work with the Lorian Association in the US and Canada, where she realized countries and cities had angels who watched over their souls. “Everything around us has an intelligence with which we can communicate and from which we can ask advice. All you need to do is ask. It’s not just a platitude. It works.” If we bring our spirituality into our everyday life, accept each situation without judging, we will relieve the stress caused by our resistance to what already is. We have choice. We need to find our own love and power, not look for it outside ourselves. As we bring love into all things, we transform the planet into a higher vibration.”

When asked what she would like when she comes to Rowe, she wrote, “I’d like people to leave the workshop believing, or better still, knowing they can be in conscious touch with their inner divinity, knowing this isn’t just for ‘spiritual’ people. Everything is being brought to them, so the God within can surface more strongly. I’d like them to know they always have the choice to see life from the vast perspective of their wholeness. I’d like them to realize that they, too, can work cooperatively with nature’s intelligence, which can respond to their questions. Such cooperation is vital for the world, for we need the help of the intelligence of nature in dealing with the environmental problems we’ve created. The intellectual point of view is not sufficient; we need to go more deeply into ourselves and into nature to find the real solutions.”

Dorothy Maclean has written The Living Silence, Seeds of Living Wisdoms, The Findhorn Garden, To Hear the Angels Sing, The Soul of Canada, To Honor the Earth, and Choices of Love. We are honored to welcome her back to Rowe.

“One morning, I was told in my meditation I had a job communing with nature. Everything in nature had an intelligence, and I was to harmonize with the essence of that intelligence, whether it was a planet, a cloud, a vegetable, or whatever. I didn’t know what I was communicating with. To me, it was a formless energy field. The nearest word I had was angel. I knew the Sanskrit word deva, meaning shining one, so I use the two terms interchangeably. I realized it was not the intelligence of one little plant. It was a group species. I was speaking to the intelligent soul of all the garden peas on the planet. That was the beginning of our co-operation with nature.”          — Dorothy Maclean
