We all yearn for a feeling of connection and wholeness within ourselves and with others. This is a workshop for single people, particularly for those middle aged and beyond, who want the warmth and support of a nurturing community while learning about the capacity for creating positive and joyful experiences, whether you are by yourself or relating to others. For those interested in finding long-term partnerships, this workshop will enhance the skills and confidence needed to pursue opportunities. We will address questions such as: Where does the source of our ability to love reside? How can we nurture that ability? How can we meet our own needs, creatively, if we’re not in a couple or family group? Which needs are healthy and which are not? How do we limit ourselves from getting what we want? Can we change our image of what it means to be single?
We have the capacity to find intimacy in our lives if we’re flexible about the form in which it comes. We can learn to make the most of brief encounters, friendships, and other relationships. Being single can be joyful; we have unexplored, exciting possibilities for intimacy in our lives.
Explore your behavior, beliefs, and conditioned responses using many creative tools, exercises in dyads and small groups, and sharing in the whole group. By the end of the workshop, you will have acquired many useful insights, know how to create states of aliveness and joy, find kindred spirits who understand your way of being in the world, and feel empowered to create the life you want right through your advanced years.
