Spiritual elders from traditional cultures around the world predict a new era. To name a few: the Quechua Andean prophecy; the Tibetan and Siberian legends of Shambhala and Belovodia; Toltec teachings of the Sixth Sun; and Maya prophesies heralding a new age of Light. Natural cycles of change are perceived as chaos and turmoil as the cleansing of the old makes way for the new.
Shamans and shapeshifters teach us that dreams and ideas shape our world and that the collective dreams of a culture shape the planet. To change our reality, we must transmute the fear that prevents us from dreaming a new dream, for the world is as we dream it. We must use the energy of our fear to propel a new consciousness and shapeshift ourselves to live in balance with every aspect of our world.
This workshop is about getting in touch with our abilities to serve the earth through self-awareness, opening, and self-realization. It is for people who want to shapeshift themselves; integrate their personal and global missions; find their sense of place in a rapidly shifting world; move beyond paradigms based on fear, unconsciousness, denial, and separation into embracing values based on spirit, community, and ecological identity; and develop practices and attitudes that align with the earth to realize their highest human potential.
John Perkins and Llyn Roberts will lead us on a journey into the power of this special time in human history, teaching us how to harness the energy of our fears to propel higher consciousness. John and Llyn combine Quechua, Tibetan, Maya, and Siberian teachings with those of the Shuar, the Bugis, and the Bedouins. Assisted by the five elements, plants, music, sacred fire, sacred stones, ecstatic journeys, spirit and star guides, and a Siberian fire ceremony, we will enter the realm of the shapeshifter so we can experience this unique approach to changing ourselves and the world.
John Perkins is one of the world’s foremost authorities on indigenous cultures and shamanism. He has devoted four decades to learning, practicing, and teaching about healing and transformation and has been given the mission of helping to transform industrial cultures. His own teachers include indigenous elders and shamans from cultures in Asia, Africa, Europe, Latin America, and North America. He served as an advisor to Fortune 500 companies, the United Nations, and many other international organizations and has taught at universities and learning centers on four continents. He inspired and founded the Pachamama Alliance and Dream Change (DC) and was the first non-Andean to be inducted into the “Circle of Master Yachaks” (Birdpeople shamans). His highly acclaimed books include Shapeshifting, The World Is As You Dream It, The Spirit of the Shuar (nominated for the Pulitzer Prize), and Confessions of an Economic Hitman, which was recently #6 on the NY Times non-fiction best seller list.
Llyn Roberts holds a Masters degree in Buddhist and Western Psychology and worked as a psychotherapist for the acclaimed Buddhist-inspired therapeutic community Maitri Psychological Services. She has trained extensively with Tibetan and Quechua peoples and is initiated into Birdpeople Yachak circles in South America and Siberia. She has worked closely with John Perkins since 1997, initiating Dream Change’s first intensive training programs with Quechua Andean healers, and later Maya and Tuva Siberia trips. Llyn is adjunct faculty at Union Graduate School, acts as DC’s consulting director, directs its Waking Our World (WOW!) Program, and wrote The Good Remembering. We welcome the return of these important and delightful teachers.
