The Green Nations are communities of people who love Earth, respect all her beings, and honor the interdependent diversity needed for peaceful, sustainable life. We are herbalists, gardeners, farmers, environmentalists, healthcare providers, musicians, social justice activists, artists, ecologists, and earth stewards. We gather to learn, inspire each other, network for the planet, play, and renew our commitment to live in beauty and walk in harmony on Earth, our partner. Ours is a revolution of the heart, taking action to make the world a better place for life.

We are delighted to bring the Green Nations Gathering to Rowe. Our beginnings were in a small retreat center high in the Catskills. Seventeen years later it feels as though we’re returning to our roots by re-embracing our original dreams, goals, and joys with the support of a center that shares our heart, mind, and spirit. We will begin with an opening circle on Friday afternoon and much of our time will be in two-to-three-hour workshops. For those who want more, there are intensives that last five hours and cost an additional $40. Teachers have gathered from across the continent to bring you a full schedule of herbal, food, plant spirit, and health topics as well as ceremony, music, storytelling, yoga, demonstrations, an emporium, and lots of fun. Interspersed in all the gatherings will be a reverence for all life and its diversity and an emphasis on renewal and sustainability.

Our Special Guest Elena Avila, Curandera and RN, will give an evening presentation titled The Heart of Healing: Marrying Medicine and Spirituality, as well as teach an intensive, Curanderismo vs. Duality and a class on Curanderismo in the 21st Century. David Winston of Herbal Therapeutics will present an advanced class on Differential Treatment of Anxiety and Depression and an intensive on Complementary Therapies for Treating Chronic Neck and Back Pain. Stephen Harrod Buhner of the Foundation for Gaian Studies will present a class on Natural Healing of Lyme’s Disease and an intensive on The Secret Teachings of Plants. Kate Gilday and Don Babineau of Woodland Essence will present a class on Buds, Barks, Berries, and Rosins: A Woodland Study of Rowe and an intensive field foray Old Growth Forest Walk at Dunbar Brook. Rosemary Gladstar of Sage Mountain Herbal Retreat Center and Botanical Sanctuary will present two classes on Foundational Wellness for Women and Herbs for Longevity and Well-Being. Pam Montgomery of Partner Earth Education Center will present a class on The Triple Spiral Path of Plant Spirit Healing. Doug Elliott will present Weeds for Your Needs – A Wild Ramble and evening storytelling of Weeds, Woodlore, Wildwoods Wisdom: Stories, Songs, and Lore Celebrating Healing Herbs and the Natural World. Susun Weed of the Wise Woman Center will present an advanced class on The Elements of Herbalism: Dosage and a class on My Ally Motherwort.
