The Enneagram of Personality Types is a modern synthesis of several ancient wisdom traditions; its symbol can be traced back to Pythagoras. We will look at the personality types as nine distinct aspects of human nature found in all of us, although your basic personality type will be the one closest to you. Finding our personality type is a fascinating journey of discovery.

This introductory workshop will present an overview, exercises for each type, music, meditations, and practices that help align our centers of intelligence (thinking, feeling, and ainstinct). We will see how these different aspects of ourselves manifest in our lives and how, rightly understood, they can lead us to deeper inner resources and lasting joy.

The Enneagram is a map of wholeness, a way of recognizing and investigating different aspects of our inner experience. Some aspects are part of our familiar self-image; others are unconscious and obscure. The Enneagram’s symbol suggests that the nine types are not merely “points” but facets of a dynamic and deeply interrelated wholeness.

Seeing ourselves and others through the Enneagram’s insights is fascinating, but these types reflect only part of the picture. We will look at the personalities and spiritual gifts of each type. At a deeper level, the Enneagram tells us about the relationship between our personality and our Essence, or spirit. Seeing through the veils of our personality structures, we may experience our true spiritual natures directly.

Russ is so smart and his workshops are so excellent, we keep inviting him back to teach us more. This year we asked him to do an introduction for those new to this work. Veterans of his complex, fascinating workshops may enjoy returning to the source.
