When someone dies, most non-western cultures have rituals to facilitate the safe passage of departing spirits to the other side. These practices are designed so the dead won’t hang around the living, invisibly influencing us and draining our energy. Our culture has few practices for releasing the dead, so they often linger, trying in vain to speak or act through us to resolve unfinished issues. Obsessions, dysfunctions, and complexes can be related to unresolved ancestral spirit energies, especially those who suffered untimely deaths, mental illnesses, and other issues that need healing.
Roger Woolger will share his findings from over 26 years of working in regression therapy, teaching a spiritual psychotherapy that is a unique synthesis of Jung, psychodrama, gestalt, and shamanic healing. This workshop will be highly experiential, combining lectures, demonstrations, supervised work in pairs, and group processing. He will demonstrate safe methods to help and to release spirits, to explore the “unfinished business” of your ancestors, and to heal your family line. Learn to scan your subtle body for signs of attachments; learn to recognize attachments in others; learn to protect yourself and your space. There are ways to help unhappy spirits and to send them lovingly into the light.
Please come with a rough sketch of your family tree going back as many generations as you can, old photographs and other mementos, and information about family members who have passed on. What were their lives like? How did they live and die? How did they fit in or not fit in the family? This workshop is also open to professionals who are considering entering Roger’s more extensive training.
