Ultimate Frisbee, salsa dancing, and improv…. Role-playing games, making fairy wings, and bonfires…. Making jewelry, telling stories, and hanging out with friends…. This is just the start of fun-filled days at T-Camp! Our staff is dedicated to creating a supportive community and having a wild time!
Our theory is that really cool people know how to have huge amounts of zany fun, and we intend to prove it. Friendship, adventure, excitement, challenges, quiet time for thinking, exuberant craziness, closeness, and sharing will be blended with all the normal summer camp stuff that makes Rowe such a blast.
The transition years from childhood to adolescence can be difficult. Young people question their identity, their upbringing, and their values. Is anyone going through what I’m going through? What is normal? Our evening activities create an atmosphere of acceptance and address serious issues, such as differences and similarities between males and females, various kinds of families, what to think and do about drugs and alcohol, and how to make sense of our emerging sexuality.
We create a safe environment, away from home, family, and school, where young people can consider these ideas, maybe for the first time. With the help of an experienced and focused staff, campers have a chance to explore new aspects of their personalities and try on different roles. It’s important for each young person to find his or her own unique energy, individual identity, and inner strength.
This camp lasts two weeks, so there’s time to develop deep friendships, prepare for and perform in a talent show, create art and music, hear and tell stories, joke, laugh, and listen to each other.
Join us in breathing life into an authentic, expressive, awesome summer experience. If you’re 11 to 13 and you want to meet new friends, this is the camp for you. This camp runs concurrently with Young People’s Camp.
Pamela Vernick has been coming to Rowe since she was 10 and couldn’t stand the thought of life without Rowe, so she joined T-Camp Staff shortly after it started. She only took one summer off when she got married. She loves theatre, puzzles, and getting to be a kid again every summer.
Greg Glassman first came to Rowe Camp in 1991, and he’s been on staff at both Junior and Senior High Camp. He is a jazz trumpet player and composer, and he’s a natural improviser in life. His gifts for music, humor, and compassion enable him to work with others to create moments of great meaning beauty, and fun.
