All people hold within them the ability to become brighter, more decent, compassionate, full of grace, and richly expressive. The Wonder Full Teacher perceives this higher self within each person and creates the conditions that enable this preferred self to emerge. This will be a creative, experiential adventure. Drawing, painting, writing, storytelling, and small group discussions will be the main avenues of self-exploration.

Through this workshop you will experience how to create transformative environments for yourself and others that encourage this “other” self to finally take its place in the world. You will be guided towards uncovering the possible and higher self embedded in your present self while understanding the conditions necessary for a heightened sense of wonder, self-esteem, patience, clarity of mind, and loving kindness. When you touch this wondrous part of yourself, you release the natural artist within and you move closer to becoming a Wonder Full Teacher for yourself and the people you love.

Peter and Virginia are Wonder Full Teachers who believe that anyone from any walk of life can spontaneously shift into artistic behaviors in which concentration and the flow of ideas increase, empathy broadens, and there is grace of movement and fullness of expression. Artistic behavior need not be the uncommon and special behavior of a gifted minority; artistic behavior is our natural behavior whenever we experiences ourselves as accepted just the way we are, worthy of serious consideration, safe from judgment, capable of infinite possibilities, and worthy of love.

Virginia Freyermuth is a lifelong artist and has taught children, adolescents, college students, and adults for over 33 years. She won the award for the 1994 Massachusetts Teacher of the Year and the 1995 Outstanding Art Teacher by Walt Disney’s American Teacher Awards. Dr. Freyermuth has given close to 200 presentations across the country, is a Founding Fellow of the Teacher Leadership Academy, and encourages teachers to become lifelong learners. Peter London authored the wonderful book No More Second Hand Art: Awakening the Artist Within which shows the creative process to be a series of natural, organic, gentle stages. Drawing Closer to Nature makes the creative process accessible to everyone. An exceptional artist himself, he is a distinguished Fellow of the National Art Education Association and a frequent keynote speaker who has taught for over 40 years in universities, museums, schools, and art institutes. As a teacher, Dr. London’s enthusiasm for the transformation possible through the creative process is contagious, and we delight in his return. You will too.

“Peter London’s books and workshops cut to the core of what it means to reveal our best human attributes through our innate voices. He speaks to everyone — not just those who identify themselves as ‘artists.’”
— Dr. Jane Bates, Art Education Director Towson State University of Maryland

“I became a teacher to give back to others what had been given to me, a deepened sense of self and the ability to cherish, develop, enjoy, and wisely use one’s own unique talents.
— Virginia Freyermuth
