The Selection Process

In order to fully recognize the benefits of the program, applicants must be actively engaged in their own spiritual development, grounded in a spiritual practice that has meaning for them, and strongly drawn to this path of service. The program requires openness to new experience and an element of risk-taking in the willingness to be honest, vulnerable, and trusting.

The application process is an invitation, a first step in a mutual discernment process in which the applicant and members of the core faculty evaluate each other to determine the appropriateness of the program.  The process launches applicants towards discerning their capacities to be Wisdom Resources in the world.

The selection process is rigorous, and reflects the level of work expected of participants in the program. Each applicant completes a series of questions designed for clarifying personal intentions. Along with two letters of recommendation and a professional resume or curriculum vitae, the completed application provides the selection committee with information to determine whether to proceed to the next step in the process.

The next step is an interview, in person at The Rowe Center or via video conference, to give applicants a chance to ask questions that will influence their own decisions, and for the interviewer to gain a fuller appreciation of the candidate’s strengths and goals.

Applications are accepted year-round until the following October’s cohort has been filled.

Dates for the first-year intensives can be found on the application. Participants may attend their first elective once admission into the program is confirmed.
