In these challenging times, many people seek individuals who can provide them with wise counsel and serve as companions on their spiritual journeys.

The Rowe Center has been helping lives to flourish since 1924. The Rowe Certificate Program in Spiritual Guidance, founded in 2014, is rooted in the Unitarian Universalist tradition of encouraging people to find their own spiritual paths and languages, independent of dogma. It is designed to meet a need for guides who embody wisdom and compassion, and who are spiritually literate, trans-denominational, or interfaith. The program broadens participants’ spiritual worldviews, develops their skills as spiritual guides, helps them experience a variety of spiritual practices, and expands their awareness of the many ways the sacred manifests in their lives and in the lives of others.

Offered over the course of two academic years, the program encompasses both theory and practice, with an emphasis on direct experience. The program is designed to engage the head, the heart, and the body, as well as the spirit. The four residential intensives (two per year) provide an immersion experience in which participants can enter into a sacred space in the natural beauty of the Rowe Center, to deepen their own spiritual growth and facilitate others in the process.

If you think this program is right for you, we invite you to join with a group of committed peers and experienced staff to train for the rewarding, demanding, and tremendously significant work of providing spiritual guidance.
